One of the things I have noticed since I started Addicted to Saving is that many of you have awesome tips on everything from couponing to cooking to gardening to finding deals, etc. So, I thought I would start a new 5 day post where every afternoon, I ask a common question that I get in my email inbox. I will attempt to answer the question and then all of you can chime in with how you would answer the question! The goal of this is for all of us to learn from each other. In order for this daily post to be a success, you all need to leave comments with your thoughts and ideas. I can’t wait to hear them!
Let’s Discuss: Why do you coupon?
My Thoughts: One of the things I love about my job blogging for all of you is that we all have such unique stories. I would love to hear why all of you are couponing! Are you couponing to save money towards your child’s college education? to pay off debt? to survive? to save towards a vacation? to put money towards ministries you support? Do tell! For us, I got into couponing because I had NO CHOICE. I envy people who start couponing not because they are in dire straights but because they realize they are being good stewards with their money. For my husband and I, we were not living extravagant lifestyles at all, but we had bought a house and I had lost my job after closing on our house. We had more bills coming in each month then we had money coming in. So I had to get into couponing to be able to afford to go grocery shopping each week. With time, couponing allowed us to start to tackle our monthly expenses and eventually we were able to get on top of all of our expenses and even start to put some money towards savings. Now, we are couponing to put money towards an expense which I will share with all of you next week. So until then, fill me in – why are you couponing?

I took advantage of this UPS My Choice offer last time it was available and it is great! I receive emails from UPS when packages are enroute to my house. And, if a package is delayed, I receive an email about that as well. This is a great tool for those of you who shop online. And, it is FREE!
