CVS Weekly Ad 8/1/10 – 8/7/10

by Addicted to Saving on July 30, 2010

This week we finally have a LONG CVS ad!  I can always tell when the ads are long when it takes me hours to do the matchups!  :)   I tried to make sure that I didn’t post coupons that expired on 7/31/10.  There are some great deals for sure.  I’m particularly excited about the Thermacare deal which isn’t free but still a good deal!  This week SOBE is on sale B1G1 again.  I know some CVS locations are no longer accepting B1G1 coupons with B1G1 sales so proceed with caution  :)    If you see any deals I’ve missed, please leave a comment on this post so that everyone can take advantage of the deals.  You can email them to me but I may not have a chance to post each and every deal – so posting them here would be better.

If you are new to shopping at CVS, read my Intro to CVS post HERE!

Liza there is a $5.00 thermacare (2 ct. or larger) publix coupon in the green flyer. I was wondering which store has the better deal???? I could really use some of these!

Reply

Michelle July 30, 2010 at 8:44 pm

Did you read the Publix store coupon as 2 of the listed advils OR 1 package of thermacare 2ct=?
Meaning 1 thermacare package not 2 packages?
Just checking… and wondering if I will have to convince a cashier or not? LOL

Reply

Jennifer July 30, 2010 at 11:46 pm

There was a $3/1 Thermcare coupon in a recent insert. I used two $3/1 and the $5/2 Publix coupon, making the total $2.98/2.

Michelle July 31, 2010 at 9:50 pm

Did you use the Publix coupon at Walgreens or at Publix??
Just checking!

Michelle July 31, 2010 at 9:51 pm

I meant CVS or Publix! LOL

Jennifer July 31, 2010 at 11:06 pm

Just making sure…if you buy 4 of the Ragu or Skippy, do we get the same price as the 3/$5? I know some stores will only give you the sale price if you buy it in the advertised quantities.

Reply

Liza July 31, 2010 at 3:30 pm

Hi Angela! Great question – yes you can buy 4 of the Ragu or Skippy. You can even buy 1 if you want :) Just make sure you buy enough to trigger the ECBs :)

Liza, I have coupons for the razor, the bandaids, the PB and the tide and the downy and the bounty basic. I am asking for your expertise and guidance. I can’t seem to wrap my head around the best order to purchase items in to maximize my savings? Please help. I also plan to buy milk and Colgate Total.

No go for that zip code for me for the popcorn. Liza, what zip code did you use for the coupon?

I signed up for CVS’s emails today after seeing it in their weekly ad….got a $4 coupon for signing up and then checked my available rewards in my account and got a $3.49 ECB for a free gallon of milk (although the milk is not even specified on the printout so looks like it could be applied toward anything).

missy August 1, 2010 at 1:24 pm

the ragu coupon in my paper today was only .60 cents/2 not $1.00/2

Reply

Angela August 1, 2010 at 6:00 pm

I just went to CVS and the coupon printer printed out a $5 off $25 purchase. I’m not sure of the logistics of how they determine who gets what, but just in case you are going to be around there today…

Missy, my Tampa Tribune and St. Pete Times also just had the .60 coupon. Still not a bad deal with the sale though.

My couponing is rubbing off on the hubby! He needed an oral rinse prescription filled at CVS and I didn’t have any $25 gift card coupons. He said to try scanning card in front (I actually hadn’t thought of that, so I was happy he reminded me) and sure enough I got one! Prescription was $4.90 and got the $25 gift card!
CVS mens vitamins 200 count were on sale B1G1 so got a great deal and used my gift card!

Reply

Vicki Powell August 3, 2010 at 10:27 am

What gift card?

Reply

Cynthia August 3, 2010 at 6:13 pm

I scanned my CVS card as I walked in and it gave me a coupon for $25 gift card with a new or transferred prescription. I took it to the pharmacy and when they filled it they gave me the giftcard. I get them all the time but never use them because thankfully we don’t take a lot of meds. I was thrilled that I got one and the script was only $4.90 so I made $21.10 on the deal…..yippee :)

Reply

Katrina August 5, 2010 at 11:34 am

When I first started going to CVS they tried to tell me that you couldn’t use a B1G1 Coupon with a B1G1 sale but when they scanned the coupon it went through, alot of the cashiers don’t understand how coupons work so they are usually rude to me.

Reply

Michelle August 5, 2010 at 3:42 pm

Thank you so much for telling me that. That is very true. So what did you say for them to take that awesome deal of 24 Bottles of Sobe and 6 Excedrins???

Vicky August 6, 2010 at 3:22 pm

Lisa, About the Crest, Scope and Oral B deal above:
The circular I got from CVS has only 4 products listed in the add for the deal 5ECB deal. Scope outlast mouthwash, crest mouthwash, crest floss and Oral-B toothbrushes.
Your listing seems to suggest you can buy ANY of those brands’ products (including toothpaste).

Am I right in thinking I should only stick to the things explicitly mentioned in the circular? I know deals are different from Area to area, that is why I now double check.

Reply

Liza August 6, 2010 at 9:23 pm

Hi Vicky – great question! I would focus on your circular and when you go to the store, look to see if additional products are included. Sometimes they are. Bring your coupons just in case :)

Reply

Katrina Torres August 7, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Michelle, actually that day the cashier was very nice and didn’t say anything she was actually like in ahh that I only paid $1.33 :)
