Photo Show and Tell – Publix 7/29/10
I had a great day at Publix today. I wasn’t totally overwhelmed with happiness over this week’s sales ad and yet looking at the picture above, I see that I actually did a pretty good job. I did make one fatal error. Well, truthfully, I almost made two, but I caught the first error while shopping (I almost bought two Cole’s garlic bread with only one store and one manufacturer coupon – when I realized I needed two manufacturer coupons I put the garlic bread back. 
) The second error, however, was a pretty big one. If you look at my picture above, you may be able to see that above the Jimmy Dean sausage is three Old Orchard frozen juice containers (they have green lids). On the right of those three containers, you may notice a Welch’s frozen juice container with the yellow lid. What did this error mean? This error meant that I paid for two Old Orchard juice and only got one free AND I paid in full for a Welch’s juice. UGH. Not a big deal in the scheme of life and not a big enough error for me to trek back to Publix. Lesson learned that I have to really look at each and every item I put in my grocery cart. My fatal flaw cost me an extra $2.19. When all is said and done, I’m pretty pleased with my trip. I also went to Winn Dixie after Publix and bought some produce since they have good produce sales this week (go HERE and HERE to see their ad).

This post is a bit late considering I went shopping yesterday (Thursday) around 9 a.m.! That is an example of my life right now – a bit crazy! Publix has an amazing deal on TombStone pizzas and as you can see, I stocked up! I actually spent THE MOST money on one purchase since starting this website. I’m not quite sure what happened besides the fact that I bought juice, Miracle Whip and a few veggies? The Fresh Express salad is on sale B1G1 and I didn’t have a coupon for them *gasp*. So, I did spend a lot out of pocket on the salad.. Oh well! I’m still pleased! I ended up saving 84.8% which I am thrilled about considering the amount I spent out of pocket

I had a fun time at Publix today. I LOVE The Quantum Finish Dish Detergent Deal. LOVE IT. I have four more coupons and will be going back to score more boxes of detergent for $0.99 each. The Eggo Pancakes deal is of course amazing but as you know if you follow my website, I have enough Eggo to last until the end of time. I am thrilled about the Rosetto Ravioli deal – it wasn’t dirt cheap or a stockpile price, but I LOVE Ravioli and now know that my agenda next week will somehow include making my homemade sauce with meatballs and sausage. Yum. I am going back to Publix on Monday to score some of the great produce deals (in particular the cherries). Until then, my husband and I are going to be in and out of the house and I didn’t want to buy them and chance them going bad. How did you do this week at Publix?

Photo Show and Tell – Publix 7/8/10
I was excited about today’s shopping venture because coffee is on sale B1G1! My husband goes through coffee like it is going out of style. So, I was SO excited to see Eight O’Clock Coffee on sale B1G1 again this week. Beyond the coffee, however, I really didn’t need anything besides the Hungry Jack syrup. Let me tell you about the syrup. You know that we all have non-negotiables. Things that we have to have whether they are on sale or not. For me, it would be Heinz Ketchup or Tropicana Orange Juice. For my husband, it is Hungry Jack syrup. I have a ton of Eggo waffles for him to enjoy (go HERE) and he refuses to eat them without his Hungry Jack syrup. So, I had to buy it… Without a coupon. Considering the fact that I spent a mere $0.36 during last week’s Photo Show and Tell (go HERE) I figured it would be okay to go a bit “crazy” today. So I did – well, I went as “crazy” as I can. I am also in the midst of joining a produce co-op so I won’t have to buy many veggies at the store any more. When all was said and done I ended up saving 87%. This is a lot less than normal but I’m okay with that. I stocked up on bread to freeze, I have syrup for hubby and I stocked up on applesauce that I will use to bake with and as an occasional snack. So, I’m pleased.

Publix Photo Show and Tell – Publix 7/1/10
I did an awesome job yesterday on my spending and saving during this Publix trip. I focused entirely on the sales and the coupons that I had in my stash since I needed nothing. Although, looking at my photo, we did need the Bic lighters – we use those for candles and starting the grill so I was super excited they were on sale Buy One Get One Free. It was a great trip despite the day I had had so far with a horrible experience at the dentist office. Photo Show and Tell – Publix 6/24/10
I had a great day at Publix today! I managed to save 94.2% AND I bought a ton of produce and was able to get four cartons of milk for cheap. (Make sure you read my recent post HERE to get the milk for FREE - bummer that I came across the $2/1 printable after I finished my shopping trip ) I really needed nothing other than milk and produce today so I think I did pretty good. I am super excited about the prices on produce right now. Now is the time to buy fresh fruits and veggies! I also splurged and bought Perdue Baked Chicken Tenderloins that are on sale B1G1. I didn’t have coupons for these items so it felt a bit weird to make sure a pricey purchase without coupons, but you know what, it’s okay! That’s why we use coupons. We use coupons to save money and with our savings splurge every once in a while!
There was a pricing issue with the Combat. The sign on the shelf showed the Combat to be $4.69 each. However, when they rang up, they rang up as $8.39 each. I didn’t realize the error until I had walked my cart to the car. So, I went back to customer service and they ended up giving me $16.90 in cash. Looking back, I’m not quite sure how they came up with that dollar amount.. I told them I had used $5.00 in coupons on each box, but they insisted I take the $16.90. So, I made some extra money on the deal.

Photo Show and Tell – Publix 6/17/10
I had a great day at Publix today! I was super excited about the produce deals! I LOVE zucchini and squash and green beans and all of these were on sale at $0.99/lb. I only bought 4 lbs of veggies today since we won’t be around a ton this weekend. BUT, I will definitely go back and buy more next week! I was also SO excited when I realized that the Starbucks Coffee Free Ice Cream was on sale B1G1 and I was able to use my $1.50/1 Starbucks coupons on them! And yes, I did buy a ton of rice. The rice was ridiculously cheap and I will keep all the brown rice I bought and will donate the white rice (I am donating white b/c in my mind, most people prefer white to brown.. thoughts?). Beyond that, I got a couple freebies here and there and just had a good day. The best part of my day was the cashier that checked me out. I hope she reads this When she saw me coming she said “I need to get my days switched”. She was joking and I think she’s hilarious but it was funny to realize that when they see me coming they automatically equate me with a stack of coupons. Ha.

So today I had expiring ECBs ($13.50 Extra Care Bucks to be exact) and I really wanted to do my best to purchase items that would give me more ECBs. I did a somewhat decent job of that when I did the John Frieda & the Mylanta Deal. How did you do this week at CVS? Did you all score the FREE Skinny Cow Ice Cream? (As you can see, I did not…) My only complaint is how much I was taxed today. I know that should be a minor complaint, but my total owed before tax was $0.17 but after tax my total was $1.47!

This picture is actually kind of humorous when I look at the lack of variety for my Target trip today. All you see is Bounty, Eggo and then two lone green peppers. I didn’t get green peppers during my Publix trip (go HERE) so when I saw how fresh they were at Target, I had to grab two! I had a pretty decent trip today at Target. I spent a bit more out of pocket than I would have desired, but I have enough Eggo waffles to last the next year (they don’t expire until 2011 AND I have a huge freezer ) and I have more paper towels that were FREE! Who doesn’t love FREE paper products!

I had a great day at Publix today! I was able to get some veggies and utilize some great coupons I had burning a hole in my pocket. I must say that looking at my picture I’ve posted, I realize that I only bought one item that was on sale B1G1! As you probably know, that abnormal for me! But, this week’s sale is only so-so and I ended up finding other deals utilizing the coupons I had. When all is said and done, I ended up saving 99.2% which I will take any day!

I wanted to go to Target to get the Sobe Lifewater $5.00 Gift Card deal and the Smart Ones $5.00 Gift Card deal. I had two $5.00 Target gift cards to use so I knew my out of pocket spending wasn’t going to be too bad. Whenever I receive Target Gift Cards, ECBs, or RRs, my goal is to roll them from one transaction to the next. In other words, I want the to put the Target Gift Cards towards other deals that will earn me more gift cards. **If you are interested in doing the SoBe deal, go HERE for more info (you should do better than I did with the new coupon links available). If you are interested in doing the SmartOnes deal, go HERE for more info. After using my gift cards, I spend $11.02 and received two $5.00 new Target Gift Cards to use next time.

I had an amazing day at Publix today. In fact, the picture above doesn’t adequately show everything I purchased. Publix has some awesome sales this week and if you have the right coupons, you should be able to do a great job! I went to two different Publix locations. The first Publix that I went to accepts Target store coupons and as you probably saw in this week’s ad, there are some awesome deals at Publix this week when you use Target coupons. So, I used my Target coupons at the first Publix and then went to my favorite Publix on the way home and finished up my shopping there. After both shopping trips, I spent a grand total of $6.44 and saved $277.81 I will separate each transaction so you can see exactly what I purchased at each Publix.
