I would’ve loved to put a tablet or TV or nice bedding on layaway instead of racking up debt and crazy interest rates with a credit card. And Kmart’s layaway program allows you to do a lot more than I originally thought, and is definitely better than Walmart, Best Buy, or Toys r Us: 
You can put your online holiday gifts from Kmart on layaway, pay online or in store, even buy in one state and pick up in another. And with the one-time $5 fee and a little bit of planning, it’s such much more frugal to put your gift on layaway now and make either payments over an 8 or 12 week period, depending on your purchase. You can get a layaway program for an item as little as $15! So don’t think an item is too small for you take advantage. Check out your payment calculator instantly by going HERE. Since we just got a new bed, I would definitely add the Jacklyn Smith comforter, sheets and decorative pillow (pictured below) to layaway to give to myself as a Christmas present!

All in all, Kmart is doing us a big favor by helping us not bite off more than we can chew this Christmas. By planning now and using Kmart’s free layaway to our advantage, we can show our loved ones how much they mean to us without breaking the bank. Sounds like a win-win to me!
