A few months ago I emailed Kumon Publishing and asked them if I could type up a review for them. I don’t usually do this - typically, companies contact me. My son has just started enjoying writing and trying to write. We worked a long time in OT on this and finally, he’s enjoying holding a pencil or pen and drawing and trying to write. My daughter is younger - she just turned 3. But I see in her a yearning to learn. These workbooks appeal to her because she loves structure, following directions and learning.

Above is a page from my daughter’s Kumon Publishing Pre-K + Up Creativity Workbook. This workbook had my daughter start with drawing lines and curves and now they had her draw a face. To watch my daughter learn more and more skills as she’s completed each page is amazing.

This picture is from my son’s Kumon Publishing Pre-K + Up Spacial Reasoning Workbook. This workbook had him start with completing simple mazes and as he went along, they got more and more difficult. Now, he’s at a point where he’s working on puzzles. I adore puzzles and I have to admit that some of these exercises give me pause as I double check my son’s work. They are tricky!
